FAQ
- Equipment
- Q: What kind of equipment do you
have?
A: We have 27 different machines, mostly Nautilus. We have cardio
equipment, including treadmills, stationary bikes, and eliptical.
We also have a complete free-weight area with incline/decline
benches as well as dumbbells from 2 lbs to 100 lbs. We also have
ancillary equipment, such as bands, mats, exercise ball, jump
rope, etc. Check out our photo
gallery for pictures of our facility and equipment.
- Q: I've never worked out before.
Will someone show me how to use the machines and what to do?
A: Yes! As part of the signup, we will write up a training program
just for you and your individual needs, then walk you through
that program, showing you how to use the equipment and make
sure you are starting with the right weight and that you are doing
the exercise properly. After that, if you have any questions, we
are here to help you out with those.
- Facilities
- Q: Do you have showers?
A: Unfortunately, no. But we do have lockers to put your stuff in
and bathrooms to change clothes in.
- Q: Do you have a pool?
A: No, nor do we have a sauna or steam room. Unless the A/C
goes out.
- Q: Do you have towels?
A: The answer is “No” again. If you want to bring your own towel,
that would be fine, but we don’t require it. We have Clorox wipes
to wipe down the equipment with.
- Q: Do you have personal trainers?
A: We have several independent trainers that we can refer you to.
- Q: Can I bring my own boom box?
A: You can bring your own music, but you must use headphones.
Believe it or not, not everyone likes the same kind of music that
you do.
- 24/7 Access
- Q: How does the 24/7 access work?
A: We have a key-card system. The key-cards are the size of credit
cards and are used at the Members Only entrance.
- Q: Does 24/7 access cost anything?
A: Yes, but it is only $3 per month. We keep the air conditioning,
lights, music and security cameras going 24/7, so it helps
defray the extra electricity costs. There is a $5 deposit for the
key-card itself, which you will get back when you turn the
key-card back in. (Hopefully, you’ll remain a member of Beach
Bods and keep the key-card forever!)
- Q: Is there a staff member there 24/7?
A: No, there is only staff here during office hours.
- Q: Is it safe during the non-office hours
when there is no staff there?
A: Only current members can access the facility using a valid
key-card during non-office hours. We have security cameras
covering every room, including the parking lot, that record 24/7.
- Fees
- Q: I see your rates for one
month. Is that truly "month-to-month" or do I have to commit
to a longer period of time?
A: That really is month-to-month. If you sign up for one month,
your membership will expire at the end of one full month. We
will not automatically renew you unless you sign up for our
Auto-Renew Program.
- Q: If I sign up in the middle or the end of the
month, do you pro-rate the month or how does that work?
A: If you sign up on May 20th, for example, for one month, your
membership will be from May 20th through Jun 19th. If you want
to continue your membership uninterrupted, you will have to pay
again on June 20th. You get one full month. The same practice
applies for longer memberships as well.
- Q: What about the rates for more than one
month, for instance the 6-month partner rate at $21 per month.
Can I make 6 monthly payments of $21?
A: No, that is the monthly average membership cost if you make
one payment. However, we do have payment plans available if
you want to make affordable payments.
- Q: In order to get the partner rate,
does my partner have to be a relative? Do we both have to
come in and exercise together?
A: No, anyone can be your partner. Your neighbor, your co-worker,
your mailman. And you can add a partner anytime, not just at
the very moment you sign up. If you’ve signed up at the single
rate and you get someone to join up as your partner later, we’ll
pro-rate extra time onto your membership for the time you have
a partner. And no, you don’t have to exercise together, Silly!
- Q: So if I sign up with a partner, do I
pay the single rate and my partner gets the partner rate?
A: No, you BOTH get the partner rate. Pretty good deal, eh?
- Q: What happens if I have to move because
of work? Can I cancel?
A: Yes, you can cancel anytime with no further obligation and no
cancellation fee. The only bad thing is that you won’t receive any
money back because there are no refunds except under very
specific circumstances outlined in Florida consumer law governing
health clubs.
- Age Limit
- Dress Code
- Q: Can I wear sandals when I work out?
A: Yes, any type of footwear is acceptable. Our dress code is pretty
simple. Basically, ladies must keep their bottoms and tops
covered. Bikini bottoms or less are not allowed. Sports bras or
bikini tops are OK. For men, they must keep their tops and
bottoms covered, except that men may remove their shirts as
long as they are not using any equipment. (Men like to look at
themselves in the mirror, even though they won’t admit it.)
T-shirts, muscle shirts, tank tops … any type of shirt works.
Sorry guys, no Speedos allowed. Squarecuts, boardshorts,
jeans, shorts are all OK.
